About the Role As the Compliance and Sustainability Manager, you will oversee all environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and advancing the company's sustainability strategy. Your leadership will drive initiatives to minimize the environmental footprint, enhance resource management, and foster a culture of accountability.

Key Responsibilities: Sustainability Strategy and Reporting Develop and implement strategies to reduce environmental impact and promote social responsibility. Drive initiatives for carbon reduction, alternative energy use, and resource optimization. Measure and track sustainability performance, ensuring alignment with long-term goals. Lead sustainability reporting and advocate for projects that enhance energy efficiency and environmental protection. Oversee and expand the development of biofuels produced from company land as a coal alternative for blast furnaces, including establishing capabilities for biomass palletisation and exploring opportunities to export or grow the business in countries utilizing coal for steel production or thermal energy. Compliance Management Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory standards across the organization. Develop and maintain compliance programs, policies, and procedures to meet legal and industry requirements. Monitor regulatory changes, conduct risk assessments, and oversee internal and external audits. Liaise with regulatory bodies and stakeholders to ensure good standing and timely reporting. What You Bring: Tertiary qualifications in Science, Environmental Science, Applied Science, Environmental Engineering or other suitable qualification. Proven experience in compliance and sustainability management, preferably in mining or resources. Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, ESG principles, and risk mitigation. Minimum of 10 years of experience in the mining or a similar industry at an operational site level or above. Experience with QLD and/or NSW regulatory environments. Excellent skills in project management and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders. #J-18808-Ljbffr
