The Distribution Strategy team is responsible for distribution business strategy development, business planning, investment planning across short & long-term time horizons and business performance tracking and reporting.
We are currently looking for a Strategy Lead, to join this growing team.
About the role This role will focus on delivering strategic thinking, research and analysis to shape AusNet's distribution network strategy, including focusing on exciting changes driven by the energy transition.
This includes strategies related to electric vehicles, gas electrification and transitioning towards a Distribution System Operator.
This role is integrated into the distribution business and will be close to the execution and tracking of strategic approaches once developed.
You will support the business on major initiatives, strategy and planning to help AusNet deliver on its long-term growth.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Playing an active part in developing and shaping AusNet's distribution strategiesDeveloping and leading program work streams including framing, analysis, and pathway to implementationContributing to the strategic planning cycle & engaging with multiple stakeholders across various levels (up to GM)Identifying and managing a rapid response process to emerging issues that have the potential to impact the business's ability to meet its strategic plan and targetsProviding strategic insight for the organisation through visible and concise reporting on internal and external developments that influence the business and strategySupporting the wider objectives of the Strategy & Regulation team including regulatory & policy advocacy, network innovation, or business improvementAbout you You don't need to tick every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:
An undergraduate degree in Commerce / Economics / Finance / Engineering or related fieldAt least 3+ years relevant work experience with experience in a strategy role (e.g.)
management consulting, corporate strategy or asset management roleEnergy / utilities sector-specific experience, with a focus on infrastructure and understanding of the Australian energy sector would be extremely advantageousStrong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to influence and communicate at an executive levelSelf-motivated; naturally inquisitive and proactive in approach with excellent stakeholder engagement expertise within a collaborative environment is extremely beneficialA combination of strategic consulting experience and a passion for the energy/utilities sector will set you up for success here.
