Strategy and Planning Lead (Parental Back-Fill) Alice Springs, Alice Springs & Central Australia NT
Northern Territory PHN leads the development and coordination of an equitable, comprehensive primary health care system and an engaged health workforce driven by community needs.

Salary: $115,670 – $126,703
Location: Darwin or Alice Springs
About the Opportunity This role is a Maximum Term Contract responsible for working with internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities, develop, co-design or integrate service or system responses to address service gaps, create a better experience for patients, encourage better use of health resources, eliminate service duplication, build health workforce capacity, and improve the quality of care. While NT PHN activities address the whole of the primary health sector, specific areas of focus are Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, remote health, primary care and workforce planning.
The role facilitates and supports the participation of people with a lived experience to enable them to take an active and meaningful role in service planning and design.
Key Responsibilities and Skills: Tertiary qualifications and at least four years relevant leadership experience in a public health, public administration, social science, or other related field. An in-depth understanding of the Australian Health System, particularly primary health care, primary health workforce, and the NT context with the ability to provide specialist advice. Strong skills and experience in research translation, the identification and use of data to inform planning, and an understanding of rigour and data validity. Strong interpersonal, engagement, and relationship-building skills with a proven ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with a wide range of internal and external clients, partners, and stakeholders in an environment requiring cultural sensitivity. Superior analytical and written communication skills to provide high level and timely advice and produce clear and effective documentation. Experience in designing and delivering co-design activities along with leading projects in accordance with established project management principles and practices, and involving collaboration with a range of stakeholders. Demonstrated experience in program evaluation to lead consistent, rigorous, and accountable decision-making processes addressing organisational priorities. Building organisational capacity by training and mentoring staff in the areas of expertise for the role.
