As Strategy and Growth Lead, you will be pivotal in driving the strategic direction and leadership of the Australian arm of the Transport & Infrastructure business.

What We Offer:The opportunity to shape and influence business strategies on a national scale.A comprehensive benefits package, including health and wellness initiatives.Recognition as a WORK180 Endorsed Employer for All Women, underscoring our dedication to diversity and inclusion.The OpportunityAs the Strategy and Growth Lead, you will play a pivotal role in steering the strategic direction of the Transport & Infrastructure business (T&I), with a particular focus on the civil construction and maintenance sector.Working closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams, you will drive performance improvement, business optimisation, and growth initiatives that span T&I's Australian business.In this role, you will be integral in defining and communicating the strategic vision for T&I Australia, ensuring alignment with the wider business unit and Group stakeholders.Your role will involve leadership or facilitation of both direct strategy and growth functions (strategic planning, market analysis, business optimisation, pipeline management, mergers and acquisitions) as well as indirect functions (business development, strategic tendering, and transitions/integrations), with the goal of maximising business outcomes and long-term success.You will work closely with leadership to support early positioning and high-level capture development.Your expertise in civil construction and commercial exposure will allow you to challenge, review, and refine proposals to enhance competitive positioning and successful delivery.Additionally, you will facilitate change management efforts across improvement projects, implementing frameworks and processes aligned with Downer's standards to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.This role sits within a small trans-Tasman team that supports the wider T&I business; it requires a person who thrives in an agile-like model and excels in leading through influence.Key Skills and ExperienceSignificant experience in the civil construction and infrastructure industry, with a strong understanding of the Australian market.Proven track record in managing and executing strategic projects and change initiatives with a structured, outcome-focused approach.Ability to work collaboratively across a range of internal and external stakeholders, with strong influencing skills at all organisational levels.Action-oriented with a high level of initiative; capable of driving projects to completion, even when faced with challenges.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to balance attention to detail with a clear strategic vision.A well-developed ability to coach teams, facilitate working groups, and synthesize data and information to form clear insights.Adaptability and flexibility in a dynamic environment, with a highly organised approach to managing multiple priorities.To ApplyTo seize this exciting opportunity, click "Apply" and submit your application.
