Working within a collaborative and supportive team and reporting to the Team Leader Strategic Planning, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of strategic land use policy and the delivery of precinct planning in designated growth areas to support our growing community. Alongside other Strategic Planners, you will also be responsible for reviewing the content of Section 10.7 Planning Certificates and contributing to process improvements. This exciting new role will see you supporting the delivery of policy actions in Camden's Local Strategic Planning Statement and contributing towards the review and development of strategies and planning instruments for the Camden LGA and growth centre precincts. Tertiary qualifications in Town Planning, or related discipline and/ or extensive job-related experience Working knowledge of Section 10.7 Planning Certificates under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Regulation 2000 and Councils requirements with respect to these certificates Working knowledge of new urban release area planning and associated principles Sound communication, interpersonal, negotiation and problem-solving skills Ability to think strategically, holistically and creatively when working autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver projects Working knowledge of, and/or experience in, the implementation of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, the Environmental Planning and Assessment Regulation 2000 and the NSW Local Government Act 1993 Strong focus on and commitment to quality customer service Demonstrated ability to apply EEO, WHS and ethical practice principles and to act with probity at all times. Demonstrated understanding of Microsoft office computer applications and Geographical Information Systems (GIS) Demonstrated skills and experience in the formulation and implementation of community consultation programs Evidence of commitment to ongoing professional development To meet Council's WHS requirements and in accordance with Council's Covid-19 Safety Plans, this position has been identified via risk assessment to be required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or provide evidence of an approved medical contraindication. If a medical contraindication certificate is provided, it will be assessed against a risk assessment and the decision of whether Council accepts the medical contraindication certificate, will be based on operational needs.
