Strategic Coordinator – ACT Corrective Services Countering Violent Extremism High Risk Program
Full-time TemporaryDetails: ACT Corrective Services (ACTCS) is looking for a highly-motivated and conscientious person to fill the position of Strategic Coordinator – ACT Corrective Services Countering Violent Extremism High Risk Program (SOGC), within the Intelligence Unit.
The ACTCS Intelligence Unit is responsible for the strategic, operational and tactical intelligence across the whole of ACTCS, as well as the identification of systemic themes and risks within ACTCS and early indicators of criminal activity.
The position supports an intelligence-led, risk-based strategic capability for ACTCS and facilitates the coordination of the Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) High Risk, Rehabilitation and Reintegration Program (HRRR Program). The successful applicant will be responsible for managing the development of the HRRR Program and working closely with stakeholders to identify and assess detainees and offenders suitable for engagement in the program.
In addition, you will also engage in proactively collecting, collating, and analysing information to produce intelligence that informs and influences decision-making. The CVE Coordinator conducts high-level analysis and applies sound research methodology to identify patterns, trends, and emerging issues in order to identify threat and mitigate risk within ACTCS and the community. They provide advice, expertise and direction for team members and stakeholders.
Further to this, the successful applicant will prepare complex written executive and intelligence reports and deliver oral briefings to a range of stakeholders in line with organisational standards and requirements.
To be successful, you will possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and display high-level research and analytical skills. You will also demonstrate an ability to develop and compose complex workplace documents, in addition to demonstrating strong leadership and management qualities.

Eligibility/Other requirements: Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) - Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. For further information on Working with Vulnerable People registration refer to - Working with vulnerable people (WWVP) registration (act.gov.au) Experience working in an intelligence and/or the Countering Violent Extremism environment will be highly regarded.The position holder must be able to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 1 security clearance upon appointment to the position as a condition of employment. If the candidate does not already hold this level clearance, ACTCS will sponsor their clearance.The successful candidate will be required to undergo a criminal record check.Notes: This is a temporary position available immediately for a period of six months, with the possibility of extension up to 12 months. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
