ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Strategic Asset Planner, you will lead the development and implementation of an optimized asset performance management program. Working within JCU's Strategic Asset Management Framework and maintenance strategy, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing business activities, managing risks, and ensuring legislative compliance.
In this role, you will:
Oversee the lifecycle management of the University's built and natural environments, optimizing performance and improving compliance.
Mitigate asset management risks, including safety, financial, and operational risks, by collaborating with stakeholders across the organization.
Drive the development of strategic asset management frameworks, maintenance, and replacement programs to achieve prioritization outcomes.
Implement a whole-of-business approach to asset planning, transforming operations and enhancing reporting and compliance practices.
Foster a culture of high-quality asset management by building strong stakeholder relationships and promoting effective engagement and education.
Lead and develop a high-performing team focused on teamwork, innovation, and employee wellbeing.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
With tertiary qualifications and extensive asset management experience, you bring advanced technical expertise in asset management, supported by a proven track record of delivering strategic asset planning services within large and complex organizational settings, ensuring adherence to relevant legislation and standards. Your exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills enable you to influence strategic decisions, provide thorough analysis and guidance, and keep stakeholders well-informed. With strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, you excel at identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, implementing industry best practices, and streamlining processes to achieve integrated and optimized maintenance outcomes. Your leadership and management experience include successfully working with diverse stakeholders, industry representatives, consultants, and customers. Additionally, you demonstrate a high level of computer proficiency, including advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Word, along with the ability to effectively utilize mobile devices.
Special Conditions
The assets for this role are located between Thursday Island, Cairns, Townsville and several remote locations within Queensland. Travel will be required.
