About the role:
The Strategic Adviser plays a critical strategic leadership and advisory role to the Chief Executive Officer, Hospitals Victoria and Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Hospitals Victoria, and is responsible for leading the Office of the CEO to operate effectively and efficiently.

How you'll make a difference:
Managing relationships with senior stakeholders, both internal and external, resolution of complex issues and provision of strategic advice and support to CEO, Deputy CEO and the wider Hospitals Victoria Division are key to success in this role. The position manages emerging issues and areas of risk and ensures effective management of divisional accountabilities and responses including strategic planning, communications, coordination, reporting, and senior executive and Ministerial liaison. The position operates with a high-level of professionalism, initiative and autonomy.
Suitable applicants will be able to demonstrate:

A strong understanding of the Victorian health system and knowledge of the department and its operating processes and information systems.
Strategic planning skills: thinks at the big picture level; entertains wide-ranging possibilities in developing a vision for the future; works across a number of time frames; translates strategic direction into day-to-day activities.
Project management skills: Consults, liaises with and influences key stakeholders; produces detailed project plans where objectives are clearly defined and action steps for achieving them are clearly specified; monitors performance against objectives and manages project risks and issues; ensures project objectives are met.
