About the team
The Engineering, Design and Standards Branch is responsible for infrastructure engineering, design, survey, specifications, asset standards, electrical infrastructure and contributed assets across all customer and community facing infrastructure classes.
Our stormwater team has substantial experience delivering small design projects (paths, parks, local drainage upgrades) to major design projects (large culvert crossings, bridges, major road upgrades and major stormwater drainage network upgrades). Working in this team will provide you mentorship opportunities to improve technical knowledge, learn from specialists in other disciplines and grow as an engineer.
About your new role
Under the guidance of senior engineers, we are seeking to appoint an experienced Stormwater Engineer to join our team.
Key Role Responsibilities Responsibilities and duties of the role incumbent include, but are not limited to:
Undertake minor and complex multidisciplinary engineering projects with the guidance of senior engineers. Hydraulic modelling using TUFLOW software. Produce documentation detailing the assumptions, methodology, results and conclusions of the works undertaken. This includes producing flood maps in QGIS or ArcPro. Adhere to the City's project management methodology. Reviewing design drawings to ensure the information related to proposed infrastructure is correct. To be successful in this position you will be a highly motivated professional with advanced interpersonal skills and a strong customer focus.
Bachelor Degree of either Civil or Environmental Engineering Experience in software in TUFLOW, QGIS and ArcGIS Experience in utilising guidelines such as QUDM, Austroads, TMR specifications, Australian Rainfall and Runoff 2019 Experience in 12d and URBS – desired but not essential Experience in other specialist software (i.e. FLOW-3D, Python, MUSIC) or water related skills (WSUD, temporary works, advanced hydrology) - desired but not essential A commitment to undertake continuing professional development (CPD).
