The Stores Supervisor is responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance, and evaluation of all stores management practices, policies, and procedures to ensure efficient and cost-effective operation of the stores function within a correctional centre.
In this role you will: Develop local stores procedures in accordance with the needs of the centre, compliant with relevant QCS procedures.Maintain stores procedures and documentation in accordance with QCS financial management manual, QCS procedures, requirements of the purchasing system, and QUEST systems where applicable.Implement and maintain Offender Purchasing and Offender Canteen Services local procedures in accordance with relevant procedures.Oversee the administration of the purchase of stock and stores for the centre store.Review and manage the stock orders from all areas of the centre through the local internal system.Provide, through the inventory and stock management system, an auditable trail of stock orders.Manage stock control in accordance with direction from the Correctional Manager Business Services and relevant delegations.Manage stores budget in accordance with direction from the Correctional Manager Business Services and relevant financial delegations.Ensure that all requests for goods and services are processed and actioned in a timely manner.Ensure all centre documentation is appropriately archived.Manage the control and issue of uniforms.
Manage and administer the Prisoner Purchasing System and the Prisoner Canteen Service, maintaining smooth operation of all prisoner stores support services.Purchase, store, and control inventory stock items for the centre as required.Manage stock control through regular stock checks and stock takes.Ensure that write-offs and stock discrepancies are processed in accordance with relevant delegations.Ensure that monthly stock accounting procedures are reported accurately.Provide monthly stock reports and stores reports.Understand and implement appropriate warehousing techniques including the storage and movement of bulk equipment, foodstuffs, chemicals, and dangerous goods.Maintain appropriate storage and handling practices when handling goods which carry a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) warning.Ensure that the centre store complies with all workplace health and safety regulations.Conduct regular stores audits to ensure that all processes are in compliance with workplace health and safety regulations.Ensure all staff are appropriately informed and trained on correct lifting techniques.Ensure that all staff utilising Materials Handling Equipment are correctly licensed and trained.Ensure all staff and prisoners entering the store are accurately briefed on movement within the store and other required workplace health and safety issues.Ensure all prisoner workers are in compliance with centre local operating procedures.Maintain a register of access to the store area.Provide direction to staff and prisoner workers to achieve required outcomes.Ensure all stores staff are conversant in safety precautions within the store including the use of personal duress alarms, appropriate interaction with prisoner workers within the store, and appropriate behaviour within the store and centre. Applications to remain current for 12 months.
