As a leader, you will have previous leadership experience and believe that developing the skills, knowledge, and behaviors of your team is critical to success. Your attention to detail includes critical data analysis and understanding of stock flow principles that will feed our pipeline and control costs.What you will be doingCommunicate the business strategy and ensure that direct reports have individual goals linked to the site objectives.Create an environment that supports teamwork and values our leadership qualities.Coach and mentor direct reports, providing performance feedback, encouragement, and counseling as required.Monitor base manning and productivity, producing plans that will ensure that wage performance is in line with or better than the site's budget wage percentage.Ensure accurate and timely completion of all administration and documentation required.Manage the site's budget, identifying opportunities to reduce costs, identify problems, and ensure corrective action is taken.Ensure that store assets and equipment are maintained in optimum order.Conduct regular reviews of financial trading information and initiate corrective action where required.Conduct a weekly review of the Profit and Loss Report to monitor performance and initiate corrective actions required.Ensure volume and mix of merchandise available in the site will maximize sales and meet customer needs, uphold presentation standards, while maintaining inventory to acceptable levels.What you will bring to the roleStrong leadership capability.High level of attention to detail.Ability to work in a high-pressure and fast-paced environment.Basic computer skills.The ability to work across a 7-day trading roster, which may include late nights and weekends.Previous experience working in a retail environment.Life at MetcashExperience a supportive and flexible work environment.
