What is the focus of the role? Having recently completed the insourcing of our stores to company ownership, Telstra Retail is in an exciting phase of transformation. Our stores are critical to Telstra's brand, reputation and advocacy and are the local face of Telstra.
This role will focus on the development and execution of innovative store formats and related programs, that optimize customer experience, create operational efficiency and support profitable growth.
As part of our Retail strategy, we will continue to refine, redesign and optimise our stores to ensure we meet our customers' needs. This includes optimising our store footprint and evolving our store formats. We will do this by trialling new store concepts and alternative stores formats, alongside the development of a more localised store proposition.
Role Purpose A key pillar of our retail strategy is to create a sustainable retail store footprint aligned to future growth markets. The purpose of this role is to deliver innovation in our footprint through creation of store formats that spearhead a more localised proposition, sales and marketing approach, unlocking meaningful share growth.
What You'll Do Facilitate the development of new store formats through collaboration with a broad range of cross-functional teams, including retail store development and footprint, retail experience, marketing, merchandising, retail product category, retail technology and other teams to ensure cohesive store formats are developed.Scope the store format program, including the key initiatives and the ongoing evolution of the program. Linking outcomes back to Retail Strategy as projects are delivered and outcomes become known.Drive transformation initiatives that enhance store performance and align with market trends. Stay abreast of retail industry trends and best practices in retail development and innovation.Absorb and deeply understand the effectiveness of store formats, and provide recommendations for ongoing continuous improvement. Act as the SME and continue to seek out and cultivate data sources that will inform the ongoing store format strategy.Management, monitoring and governance of in-flight initiatives. Oversee project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure successful implementation of store format development projects.Business case development including funding requirements and success measures.Post implementation review and successfully embedding back into Retail Operations BAU.Key Skills and Technical Expertise 10 years' experience in retail store and format development, including retail transformation or strategy consultancy type experience.Energetic innovator. Someone who will tenaciously champion the store format program for Telstra Retail and ensure we deliver desired outcomes against a key pillar of the retail strategy.Extensive experience working in or with large organisations, delivering large scale innovation projects into store environments in the context of store development and/or retail category management.Strategic thinker with a passion for driving innovation in retail – ability to take ideas and connect them in with the retail strategy, to develop innovative store formats and related programs.Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement with ability to present directly to business executives and own program deliverables and outcomes.End to end program delivery- from scope and feasibility, through to defining programs and monitoring delivery and outcomes.Strong understanding of customer behaviour and retail trends.If this opportunity sounds like a perfect fit for you, we'd encourage you to apply!
