Launch Recruitment are looking for a storage admin/engineer to joining a large scale consulting business for a 12 month contract.
Location: Melbourne or Canberra Clearance: Baseline or NV1 required Day Rate: $760 per day Working Requirements: Hybrid working (2/3 days in the office, the rest WFH) Role and Requirements Participate as a storage administrator / engineer in the establishment of infrastructure managed services for the client: Formulate and submit requests for information related to the implementation and operation of the client's existing storage platforms Review available information and participate in workshops to understand existing storage platforms in preparation for taking over storage operations Create necessary storage operations documentation in preparation for service go live (e.g.
System Understanding Documents, Standard Operating Procedures) Demonstrate readiness for storage operations go live in line with the published service establishment plan and schedule Perform on going "business as usual" storage operations and administration tasks, including: monitoring health checks performance management availability management capacity management patching routine storage administration and maintenance tasks resolution of production and non-production incidents, minimising any downtime or impact to performance working through back logs of storage related problem tickets storage provisioning fulfilment of storage related service requests Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for storage infrastructure, processes, and procedures Help align storage operations with DevOps and Agile principles Contribute to the adoption of automation of storage related management and operations tasks Collaborate closely with other storage administrators on the team and the broader infrastructure (compute, storage, network, datacentre and public cloud) teams Implement and practice security best practices across the storage platforms to ensure compliance with security standards applicable to federal government agencies Practice continuous improvement by staying up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies to drive continuous improvement and innovation within the team Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years of experience in operating SAN, NAS, converged infrastructure and public cloud storage platforms and backup systems in large enterprise environments Experience with HPE, CISCO and Brocade SAN fabrics, Hitachi and HP storage, Nutanix and Hitachi converged infrastructure, Netbackup and HP tape libraries Proven experience in operating within IT Service Management and ITIL frameworks.
Role requires existing ITIL v4 certification or obtaining one within 8weeks of commencing the job.
