About the Role: The manager, STEM Programs provides state-wide leadership and expertise in evidence based, high quality teaching and learning to improve learner engagement and outcomes in the STEM related learning areas of the Australian Curriculum. The manager will bring specific curriculum, pedagogy and STEM learning design knowledge and expertise to the team, to collaboratively develop a connected, coherent and culturally inclusive approach to implementing the STEM Scholarships and the STEM Aboriginal Learner Congress.
The manager:
Works collaboratively with schools from year 5 to year 12 and their communities providing leadership and strategic support to enable their participation in STEM related initiatives. Works collaboratively with the Senior Project Manager, STEM Projects and secondary schools to implement the STEM Scholarships program to improve the engagement and STEM educational outcomes of secondary school students who are up underrepresented in STEM; females, Aboriginal learners, and those from low socioeconomic circumstances. Works collaboratively with the STEM Aboriginal Learner Congress project officer, Aboriginal Education directorate, Aboriginal elders and Aboriginal students with industry and further education providers to scope plan and deliver the annual STEM Aboriginal Learner Congress Works across divisions to coordinate communications and activities of the STEM initiatives to maximise state-wide engagement. Develops and facilitates professional learning for STEM Aboriginal Learner Congress workshop designers and presenters to ensure program coherence. Qualifications: Essential: Current Full Teacher Registration Desirable: Relevant Post Graduate Qualifications Special Conditions: The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

Remuneration: STL3 $143,545 per annum (1.0 FTE), plus superannuation
