We're looking for someone to join the team to help drive our government relations and advocacy arm - building and strengthening connections in government, identifying opportunities and helping clients establish meaningful relationships with political influencers.
About you: A proactive and natural communicator, with a finger-on-the-pulse and great understanding of Australia's political landscape - the Government Relations and Engagement Specialist will be a conduit between Fifty Acres, clients and government/political influencers.
With exposure to complex organisations and governance structures, this role will see you manage large and small accounts, across a variety of industries, issues and initiatives.
Your experience in government relations/stakeholder management will allow you to help clients engage and build meaningful relationships with government.
Your creative, out-of-the-box thinking will help you deliver innovative and impactful solutions that support our campaigns and initiatives.
Your expertise and contacts in government will help you manage engagement campaigns, including high-level proposal pitching to government stakeholders.

To be successful in this role you should have: Experience working in government and/or stakeholder engagement is a must.
A great understanding of Australia's political landscape OR at minimum, a genuine interest in politics and current affairs with the commitment to immerse yourself in the landscape.
Qualifications in either: arts, politics, public policy, media and communications, journalism, marketing, or PR.
Experience in project and/or client management.
Exceptional writing and content development skills across a range of audiences and channels including digital and traditional media, social media and web.
A willingness to travel interstate if required and to work outside of standard hours (note - travel will be minimal, estimated a few times per year).
The role will involve: Managing small and large accounts and project teams to ensure deliverables are met on time and budget.
Establishing strategic partnerships and building strong relationships with clients and political stakeholders.
Managing engagement campaigns including high-level proposal pitching to government stakeholders.
Strategising and developing a wide range of collateral, including invitations, social eKits, blogs, key messages, fact sheets and policy submissions.
Keeping abreast of political and current affairs, and the daily news cycle to help identify opportunities for effective engagement strategies and tactics for clients.
Assisting in driving new business opportunities, including the development of proposals and pitching to potential clients.
Desirable but not essential: Experience in managing social media accounts.
Sound knowledge of Figma as well as government and media monitoring services.
A strong network or the ability to develop government contacts at federal and/or state level.
Report to CEO
Responsible for None, but as project and research lead you will work alongside the CEO to execute government engagement services, and work closely with the communications team.
