Our STEM Program is pretty special. Running for the past two years, it has been developed to include Science, Technology, and Sustainability. We are really passionate about both STEM and Sustainability, and this can come through in our annual Science Week Celebrations, along with the work we have done with the Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria and Zoos Victoria through the Fighting Extinction Program.
This role would suit someone who is passionate about Sustainability and Science, who has a deep respect for engaging students in the natural environment, and who is particularly keen on job sharing with our exceptional STEM teacher. RoleThe classroom teacher classification comprises two salary ranges- range 1 and range 2. The primary focus of the classroom teacher is on the planning, preparation and teaching of programs to achieve specific student outcomes.
ResponsibilitiesThe role of classroom teacher may include but is not limited to:
Direct teaching of groups of students and individual students;Contributing to the development, implementation and evaluation of a curriculum area or other curriculum program within the school;Undertaking other classroom teaching related and organisational duties as determined by the School Principal;Participating in activities such as parent/teacher meetings; staff meetings; camps and excursions;Undertaking other non-teaching supervisory duties.Who May ApplyTeachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach and/or have demonstrated experience in the curriculum area(s) specified for the position.
