We are seeking a passionate and innovative science educator to join our team to develop STEM programs for school-aged children that will ignite their interest in science! This is an exciting opportunity for an educational leader with a vision for excellence and innovation.ABOUT THE ROLE:As STEM coordinator in this new role, you will be responsible for everything related to designing, implementing and expanding our STEM programs for primary and junior high school students. We are seeking someone passionate about working with children and making science exciting and accessible to them! You will work with a team of dedicated tutors to develop and execute these programs while also maintaining and coordinating our existing programs. This role offers flexibility, with the option to work part-time (20 hours/week) or full-time (38 hours/week), including opportunities for remote work.Key Responsibilities:Program Development: You will be responsible for researching, developing and designing STEM programs for school-aged children. These might include holiday programs, school resources, school incursions, or other workshops.Seeking Opportunities: We are looking for someone innovative who can drive the growth of our STEM programs, including seeking out partnerships with schools or other institutions and organizations to bring more students into our programs.Teaching: You will be confident delivering educational programs to children, including teaching our STEM workshops and training other tutors in delivering them.Program Management: In addition to the STEM workshops, you will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance of our existing HSC science programs. This will include administrative tasks such as uploading materials, managing tutors and assisting them with queries, and overseeing tutors' writing contracts where new curriculum content needs to be developed.ABOUT YOU:Scientifically Skilled: Degree qualified in a science or related STEM field, with strong knowledge of one or more elements of STEM and a willingness to develop your knowledge further across the other STEM subjects.Passionate and Enthusiastic: You should be passionate and excited about STEM and the possibilities it offers students, with a constant willingness to try new things and develop new learning opportunities. We're looking for an experimenter!Experienced in Education: You should have experience working with children or in education, although most important is a love of education, working with children, and a love of STEM and how it can enrich lives. You should be confident in planning and developing educational programs.Innovative and Strategic: You should have an entrepreneurial spirit with a keen eye for seeking out new opportunities and partnerships to grow our programs.Organised and Driven: This position requires strong organisational and time-management skills.
