The Suburban Connect consortium, comprising CPB Contractors, ACCIONA and Ghella, have been selected by the Victorian Government to deliver the first major tunnelling package on the Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) East project. The package includes construction of a 16-kilometre section of the project's twin tunnels, including tunnelling between Cheltenham and Glen Waverley, 55 safety cross passages between the tunnels, station boxes at Clayton and Monash and the construction of portals – the entrances and exits to the tunnels – at the stabling facility.
About the Opportunity: Join our team as a Statutory Land Planner. You'll be the key to liaising with the client (SRLA), statutory authorities and other major stakeholders including the Department of Transport and Planning, Local Councils and the EPA regarding approval requirements and assisting with primary approvals from concept to construction completion.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
Monitoring compliance with SRL East Environmental Management Framework, Environmental Performance Requirements, Incorporated Document(s) and conditions associated with secondary approvals.
Assisting with the coordination and preparation of any draft planning approval documents during project delivery.
Providing ongoing planning and approvals advice to the project teams regarding any planning issues and challenging delivery matters.
Assessing land for the project and undertake planning assessments to identify associated planning or approvals risks.
Working with the Environmental Team to coordinate the preparation of compliance documentation.
Assisting with coordinating impact assessments for project areas - ecology, flora and fauna, post-contact/ built heritage and cultural heritage, as directed.
Working with digital engineering team to prepare GIS mapping of Project Areas, Project Values and PSA areas, as required.
We are looking for someone with:
Experience in the coordination and preparation of project approvals for infrastructure projects in Victoria (preferred), or local planning level.
Demonstrated knowledge of the planning process and planning legislation in Victoria.
Strong stakeholder management skills.
A tertiary qualification in planning or environmental planning, engineering (preferred but not essential).
