We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Statistician to join our dynamic team.
This managerial role is pivotal in enhancing our decision-making processes and competitive edge through comprehensive data analysis and statistical modelling.
Key ResponsibilitiesIdentify and evaluate inefficiencies, recommend optimal practices, and enhance system functionality and behavior using project management methodologies, principles, and techniques to develop project plans and manage projects with respect to cost and resources.Work with the organization to formulate and document business requirements, as well as identify, investigate, and analyze new processes, procedures, and work practices.Apply analytical methodologies, incorporating tools like SPSS and Excel, resulting in the optimization of logistical processes, ensuring resource efficiency and effective allocation, thereby enhancing overall operational effectiveness.Develop and apply statistical models to solve complex business problems and improve operational efficiency.
Analyze large datasets using statistical techniques to identify trends and patterns crucial for strategic planning.Design new policies, assess risks, and analyze investments in funds such as the New Pension Fund, Officers' Welfare Fund, Canteen Fund, Non-Public Funds, Mess/Wine Funds, and ensure compliance with regulations.Collect data at sea using marine ships for decision-making, employing statistical tools and methodologies to ensure the robustness and accuracy of gathered information, including meteorological and oceanographic data analysis.Prepare detailed reports, including executive summaries, charts, and visualizations, to present findings to management and stakeholders.
Collaborate closely with various departments to gather and validate data, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.Provide statistical support for forecasting and strategic decision-making, identifying potential opportunities and risks.Manage and oversee various projects, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals, and timely and within-budget completion.To Be Eligible You MustHave a bachelor's degree in Statistics and Data Science, or a Master's degree in Statistics.Minimum two to three years of post-qualification experience in sea services, including exposure to the operational and logistical aspects of maritime and air transport.Desired Skills Set And AttributesDeep understanding of maritime terminologies and the aviation transport systems, understanding the interplay between marine and air logistics, and how to leverage both for optimal transport solutions.Proficiency in statistical software such as SPSS, EXCEL etc.Advanced knowledge of statistical methods and data visualization tools.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Efficient time management skills to complete work within required timeframes and excellent attention to detail.Experience with working marine industry and knowledge of ship tech stores is preferred.To apply, please include a cover letter with your resume and direct all enquiries to ******.
