Salary: $4,624.00 - $5,107.40 per fortnight

Purpose of the role:Protect and serve the community by responding to fires and other emergencies in a professional and timely manner to minimise loss to life, property and the environment.Improve the safety and emergency preparedness of the community by contributing to fire prevention and community education activities.Special Conditions: Successful applicants will be appointed to the rank of Station Officer and may be re-allocated to an alternative Station Officer role as operationally required.

Key requirements: Mandatory Requirements:This is an operational position.
Only applicants with relevant firefighting experience should apply.Applicants must hold a current valid Blue Card and a manual Medium Rigid (MR) driver's licence as recognised by the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads.Your key accountabilities:Responsibilities:Manage operational assignments including responses to fire, road crash rescue/entrapments and hazardous material incidents.Prepare budget estimates and manage financial responsibilities at station level.Manage the effective utilisation and maintenance of station resources.Coordinate and conduct community safety and fire prevention/education activities.Manage training and staff development requirements of station staff.Develop cooperative arrangements with auxiliary and volunteer emergency service partners.Comply with responsibilities of WHS legislation.Capabilities:Role: To determine your suitability for the role, you will be assessed on the Leadership Competencies for Queensland behavioural profiles:Vision: Leads strategically, stimulates ideas and innovation, leads change in complex environments, makes insightful decisions.Results: Develops and mobilises talent, builds enduring relationships, inspires others, drives accountability and outcomes.Accountability: Fosters healthy and inclusive workplaces, pursues continuous growth, demonstrates sound governance.How To Apply: The QFR Station Officer Statement of Suitability Template September 2024 MUST be used in this process and submitted with your application in Nexus.
