About Us:
The Queensland Fire Department (QFD) provides fire prevention, preparedness and response services to fire in the built and landscape environments, as well as scientific and specialist capabilities to Queensland communities.
The QFD provides a multi-hazard emergency response, including road crash rescue, bushfire, hazardous material, technical and vertical rescue, severe weather incidents, remote and swiftwater rescue, and provides a number of functions supporting community safety outcomes.
Purpose of the role: Protect and serve the community by responding to fires and other emergencies in a professional and timely manner to minimise loss to life, property and the environment.Improve the safety and emergency preparedness of the community by contributing to fire prevention and community education activities.Special Conditions: Successful applicants will be appointed to the rank of Station Officer and will be allocated to a role at the discretion of the delegated authority.
The officer may be re-allocated to an alternative Station Officer role at the same work location as operationally required.
Appointees may be required to undertake other duties at an equal rank or act in positions at a higher rank.

Only applicants with relevant firefighting experience should apply.
Your Key Accountabilities: Manage operational assignments including responses to fire, road crash rescue/entrapments and hazardous material incidents.Prepare budget estimates and manage financial responsibilities at station level.Manage the effective utilisation and maintenance of station resources.Undertake station administration responsibilities.Coordinate and conduct community safety and fire prevention/education activities.Manage training and staff development requirements of station staff.Develop cooperative working relationships with auxiliary and volunteer emergency service partners.Manage communication within the workplace and liaise with other agencies.Facilitate all legislative, policy and procedural requirements appropriate to the position.Promote the values in the Code of Conduct for the Queensland Public Service.How To Apply:
