An opportunity now exists for a Mechanic to join the team on a remote cattle station inland from Broome toward Fitzroy Crossing. Encompassing a highly successful beef breeding operation of 25,000 head of Brangus cross cattle, helicopters, horses & motorbikes are used for mustering and cattle are processed under extremely low stress measures. This dynamic cattle station comprises a fleet of general station equipment from heavy earthmoving through to light plant & vehicles. The successful candidate within this Station Mechanic's role will enjoy a sense of diversity within the position ensuring that the entire fleet is well maintained.
Duties will include but not be limited to: Establishing and managing the maintenance program for all station vehicles, plant and machinery. Implement the maintenance program and carry out repairs as required. Undertake regular services according to the maintenance schedule. Carry out repairs and overhauls as required. Procure and organise materials and equipment. Maintain an efficient and safe workshop. Manage the spare parts inventory. Essential Criteria: To hold a Trade Qualification as a Mechanic or equivalent. To have experience working as a Mechanic – ideally within a similar working environment. To have the ability to read & interpret workplace related documentation. To have sound written and verbal communication skills in addition to organisational and problem-solving skills. To hold a current driver's license. To have a genuine passion for the agricultural industry.
