Statewide Program Coordinator, Clinical Safety & QualityPermanent full-time opportunity to provide advanced clinical expertise and care relevant to the development, coordination, and administration of safety and quality systems and strategies for the Queensland Forensic Mental Health Service.
Permanent full-time opportunity to provide leadership in service quality improvement and patient safety across the Queensland Forensic Mental Health Service (QFMHS) to support and develop a culture of safety and reliability in client care.
About you Lead and coordinate, in consultation with the QFMHS Statewide Team and relevant HHSs, changes in operational and clinical practice to achieve and sustain the service and program commitment to quality assurance, compliance, and reporting practices and activities to deliver best practice outcomes for consumers of forensic mental health services.Provide education and coaching regarding clinical quality and safety and related initiatives and processes to senior clinical staff, professional groups, operational managers, and other stakeholders as required drawing upon an advanced level of evidence-based knowledge and expertise in the forensic mental health field.Provide support to facilitate end-to-end best practice in clinical incident management which incorporates the application of human factors, systems theory, safety principles.Provide specialist forensic mental health consultation and clinical services. The QFMHS statewide team receives referrals of complex cases from forensic services or requests for second opinions. It is expected that members of the statewide team will contribute to this clinical component and will also maintain clinical skills through ongoing exposure to service provision within the forensic mental health teams.Health Equity It is expected that all Metro North Health staff, including the incumbent of this role as a valuable member of the Metro North workforce, contribute to the health equity agenda and meet the intent of supporting the defined six actions that specifically meet the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people within the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards (NSQHS), by actively supporting the elimination of racial discrimination and institutional racism; supporting increased access to health care; influencing the social, cultural, and economic determinants of health; supporting the delivery of sustainable, culturally safe and responsive health services; and recognize the importance of working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities, and organizations to design, deliver, monitor and review the health and support services we provide.
