Selection Criteria Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the instruction of instrumental music, particularly Voice, to students ranging from beginner to advanced levels, and the ability to improve learning outcomes across various music styles.
Possess the technical expertise relevant to the position and demonstrate an ability to direct ensembles, choose appropriate repertoire, and engage with student interests to foster musical development.
Demonstrate high-level communication and interpersonal skills when relating to students, parents, teachers, and the broader school community, ensuring effective collaboration and positive relationships.
Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively as part of a committed team of educators and contribute to the development of the music program.
Proactively contribute to building and retaining instrumental music student enrolments and encourage student participation in ensemble programs.
Role The Instrumental Music Instructor in this role will be responsible for providing individual Voice instruction to students from years 10 - 12.
This includes preparing students for performances and exams, as well as writing end-of-term reports for parents.
The position may also involve supporting rehearsals for the school production.
Instrumental Music Instructors are expected to attend and assist with event preparation at events such as VCE Soirees, and other performances as needed.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high level of technical and performing ability, strong communication skills, and excellent organisational capabilities.
Applicants must hold a current WWC registration.
Other duties may be assigned by the Principal, Business Manager and/or Director of Music.
Responsibilities Deliver high-quality individual and group music instruction.
Maintain accurate attendance records.
Prepare and present student reports to parents four times a year.
