Who is VAGO? The Victorian Auditor General's Office (VAGO) is a critical part of Victoria's integrity system. Independent to Parliament, VAGO ensures the accountability of the State Government through audits and assurance reviews of public sector agencies. To achieve this, VAGO annually conducts over 530 financial audits and numerous performance audits across a diverse range of portfolios including infrastructure, transport, health and social services, education, water, local government, insurance, justice, treasury and superannuation.

What's the role? The Director of Audit Quality reports to the Auditor-General and leads VAGO's quality management system, supporting the Financial Audit and Parliamentary Reports and Services divisions to deliver high-quality audits aligned with Australian standards. The role provides strategic leadership, addresses emerging challenges, and promotes continuous improvement.
Who we're looking for You are an experienced leader with a proven track record of building and managing high-performing teams. You possess in-depth knowledge of Australian auditing and assurance standards, with hands-on experience applying them to complex audits and reviews. You have a strong background in audit quality management, including developing and implementing methodologies that meet regulatory requirements.
