Selection Criteria SC1 Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including the ability to incorporate the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills.
SC2 Experience in planning and implementing high impact teaching strategies, evaluating learning programs.
SC3 Experience in monitoring and assessing student learning, using data to inform practice.
SC4 Strong interpersonal skills, establishing collaborative relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
SC5 Behaviors consistent with Department values, reflecting on practice and engaging in professional learning.
Role The classroom teacher classification comprises two salary ranges. The primary focus is on planning, preparation, and teaching to achieve specific student outcomes. Classroom teachers engage in critical reflection to improve their knowledge and skills.
Responsibilities The role may include but is not limited to:
Direct teaching of groups and individuals; Contributing to the development and evaluation of curriculum programs; Participating in parent/teacher meetings and staff meetings; Undertaking non-teaching supervisory duties. Who May Apply Teachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach in the specified curriculum areas.
