Our water group has secured multiple long-term framework contracts and significant career-defining major projects with key water authority clients across Australia and locally in South-East Queensland. This has created a great opportunity for experienced Electrical Engineers to join our team.
About the role: We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for our thriving Brisbane office to research, develop, and design electrical equipment, systems, and networks for engineering projects in our Water Division. You will work under the general direction of a Senior Engineer and be responsible for small projects or parts of projects requiring a sound knowledge of electrical engineering.
The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for: Performing electrical engineering design which includes modelling, engineering drawings, calculations, reports and design criteria to support electrical engineering projects. Performing calculations to analyze and design electrical systems using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software. Assisting in the evaluation and selection of electrical systems and materials and the development of electrical specifications. Contributing to the development of electrical systems, through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats. Assisting in the preparation of engineering project documents, client presentations, client contact, and communication pertaining to specific project deliverables. Coordinating with other disciplines to ensure compatibility with the design intent. Preparing electrical engineering documents by developing construction specifications, plans and schedules. Assisting in the review of shop drawings and submittals, responding to requests for information, preparing site observation reports, and performing other contract administration tasks. Recognizing when technical problems are developing and initiating appropriate corrective actions. Being available for on-site visits or project commissioning as required from time to time. Being stationed in a client environment on small secondment when required. Recognizing and championing safe working practices in the electrical industry. To be successful for this role you'll present: Tertiary Qualification in Engineering with an emphasis on Electrical. Between 6 to 10 years' experience in a similar position with well-rounded experience in Water and Wastewater projects. Knowledge and experience in LV and MV power systems in Australia. Experience with CAD and power engineering software tools. Highly developed consulting skills to liaise with clients and other stakeholders to achieve mutually successful project outcomes. Be working towards or have achieved CPEng and RPEQ status. Be willing to offer mentorship to junior engineers based on appropriate level of knowledge.
