The Role: As a Sustainability Manager at Energy Queensland, you will play a key role in driving the strategic focus and implementation of sustainability initiatives across our organisation. You will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing sustainability-related assurance activities, including governance, quality processes, and stakeholder engagement, to ensure our operations meet the highest sustainability standards.
You'll work closely with key internal teams to promote sustainability objectives in alignment with our corporate and divisional KPIs, as well as Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Collaboration with senior leaders will be key to influencing behaviours and driving innovation in environmental, social, and governance areas, ultimately reducing our environmental footprint and enhancing our community engagement.
Key Responsibilities: Driving improvement in sustainability governance Leading key stakeholders through strategy development Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations Developing and delivering workshops and training programs to raise sustainability awareness within the organisation About You: You are a strategic thinker with the ability to take a long-term approach to sustainability, while also delivering tangible, short-term outcomes. You possess a deep understanding of sustainability frameworks and have experience driving sustainability initiatives in large, complex organisations.
With strong influencing and collaboration skills, you are adept at building relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders, from internal teams to external partners. You are comfortable managing competing priorities and possess strong project management skills, allowing you to deliver sustainability projects on time and within budget.
Ideally, you have experience in stakeholder management, policy development, and sustainability within the energy or government sectors. You are also a strong communicator, both written and verbal, and able to deliver persuasive, assertive, and effective communication strategies that drive positive change.
The position has been evaluated as Professional and Managerial Grade (PM3). The remuneration for your new role is from $151k+ plus 14.75% super for a 9-day fortnight and from $171k+ plus 14.75% super for a 10-day fortnight.
