PRIMARY OBJECTIVE Establish and maintain industry-leading practice for technical standards and specifications for Power Service's electrical transmission and distribution (overhead and underground) networks, and zone substations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES The "WHAT" to be delivered: Evaluate in-service and new components or equipment using Safety in Design (Si D) principles and feasibility studies to inform management decision making.
Review and update Power Services Design and Construction Guidelines and Standard Drawings.
Develop, lead, and support training for new equipment and the application of Power Services Design and Construction Standards Manual.
Provide engineering support to Asset Management Team and other Power Services operations and project delivery groups.

SELECTION CRITERIA Qualification and Skills Experience Essential: Scientific or Engineering degree recognised for Professional Membership with Engineers Australia.
Competent with hazard identification and the application of semi-quantitative risk assessment, and Safety in Design principles.
Proven analytical, judgement, and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated technical report writing experience.
High level interpersonal and writing skills, with proven attention to detail.
Proven organisational skills including the ability to assess and manage priorities.
Ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and skillsets.
Desirable: Working knowledge of a Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) package such as Micro Station, Auto CAD, or similar.
Working knowledge of power systems, particularly transmission and distribution standards.
