The Inland Rail Program is a 1600km rail infrastructure project stretching from Brisbane to Melbourne incorporating new and existing rail track.
The program includes the upgrading of existing standard gauge track, the enhancement of existing standard gauge track to cater for double stacking and the construction of new standard gauge links comprising of viaducts, tunnels, rail track, crossings and bridges.

About the opportunity We are seeking a dedicated Stakeholder Engagement Officer to deliver exceptional administrative and engagement support to our Communications and Stakeholder Relations team.
In this role, you will be the primary point of contact for community stakeholders, managing inquiries through various communication channels and at the local Inland Rail regional office.
Your work will contribute to fostering positive relationships and ensuring accurate, timely, and professional interactions with our stakeholders.

Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Provision of administrative support in organising stakeholder engagement meetings (calendar invites/invitations, establishing agendas, actions register, taking minutes, CCC meeting preparation, mail merges, data entry, formatting documents, preparing excel spreadsheets, printing, arranging quotes, arranging communications distribution, booking halls and catering).Coordinate administrative support for completion of letters, presentations, reports, and correspondence as directed by the Stakeholder Engagement team.Provide stakeholder engagement support services including coordinating and attending stakeholder and community events and meetings, minute taking, door-knocking activities, 'pop-up' stalls, local community information sessions.Prepare and maintain program documentation/databases for accurate record keeping and timely reporting, monitoring and evaluation processes.Assist in the preparation and updating of engagement implementation plans, the development of project communication material, and formal responses to ministerial/community correspondence and government enquiries.Administer procurement activities, including raising purchase order requests for goods and services and processing invoices to meet operating needs and requirements.Complete reconciliations for corporate credit cards to ensure compliance with Inland Rail's financial systems and procedures.Coordinate the maintenance of respective Stakeholder Engagement Team diaries/calendars ensuring training and travel requirements are completed in line with project needs and vehicle/driving and fatigue safety policies. About You A successful Stakeholder Engagement Officer you will need to be organised, proactive, and empathetic individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
You will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build rapport with diverse stakeholders and respond effectively to inquiries and concerns.
A passion for community engagement and a commitment to fostering positive relationships are key to excelling in this role.

To ensure success in this position, applicants will be able to demonstrate: Proficient knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office applications, as well as an understanding of digital media and technologies to support communication and engagement practices.Customer service skills including effective written and verbal communication skills.Proven experience in a previous administration, project support officer, and/or government authority (local, state, or federal) role, including diary and calendar management and booking travel.Ability to learn new IT systems and processes, as well as a willingness to undertake stakeholder engagement and property related courses (online).Ability to work autonomously.Judgement and discretion in the dissemination of information.The ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.Highly developed creative thinking and problem-solving skills, with a capacity to change and manage changing priorities.Drivers Licence - Class C. Desirable Selection Criteria Understanding of, or involvement in, community engagement activities.Knowledge of rail infrastructure, transport or logistic sectors, and whole-of-government functions.
