The position would support the delivery of the Positioning Australia Program, an initiative led by Geoscience Australia, delivering world-class positioning data and services to accelerate the adoption and development of positioning technology and applications in Australia.The roleAs the Stakeholder Engagement Manager, you are a relationship specialist responsible for coordinating and facilitating effective engagement with our key stakeholders and customers.
You will shape, maintain and coordinate an integrated relationship approach to support uptake of Positioning Australia products and services across industry, government and communities.
In partnership with subject matter experts within Geoscience Australia, you will work with a degree of independence to lead and coordinate effective engagement and promotion, ensuring these activities achieve the objectives and targets of the organisational initiatives.In this role you will:Apply your management skills to plan, budget and execute stakeholder engagement activities to positively impact achievement of the strategic objectives of the Positioning Australia program across industry, government and communities.Build, sustain and utilise stakeholder relationships to support uptake of Positioning Australia products and services.
Work closely with managers and subject matter experts to deliver stakeholder engagement content and products, providing direction on best-practice stakeholder engagement and communications approaches, issues and reputation management.Evaluate the effectiveness and impact of stakeholder engagement and communications, adjusting the approach as appropriate to achieve required outcomes.Manage a small team, providing direction to align outcomes with the strategic objectives of the program.
Provide evidence-based advice across the business area and its delivery partners.Liaise with corporate communications functions to deliver integrated, aligned communication and media products.To be successful in the role you will:Have a passion for leading comprehensive, planned and monitored customer engagement with external communities and internal teams, build strategic relationships and the evidence base to link engagement activities to outcomes and benefits.Be able to identify, map and prioritise existing and emerging stakeholders, maintaining open lines of communication within Geoscience Australia and with external stakeholders.Identify opportunities to encourage uptake of technical products and services to a range of stakeholders.
Engage with key customers to build and preserve relationships, understand their perspectives and the impact of uptake of Positioning Australia products and services.Be able to proactively identify risks and issues around stakeholder engagement and provide solutions to mitigate them while maintaining effective performance.Demonstrate public service professionalism and probity by adopting a principled approach and adherence to the APS Values and Code of Conduct.Required skills, knowledge, experience and/or qualificationsStrong relationship management skills with a customer focus.
