About the roleThese Fixed-term, Part-time 0.5 FTE and/or 0.4 FTE contracts until Oct 2025 (with a possibility of extension) Staff Specialist Palliative Care position can be a Fly in - Fly Out arrangement to Southern LHD with Flights & Accommodation fully covered. It is primarily based within the Southern NSW Palliative Care Services and if necessary, involves assistance with the delivery of inpatient, outpatient and community clinical palliative care services; implementation of and participation in palliative medicine education, research and quality improvement projects; participation in other activities related to the delivery of excellent palliative care.
Duties includeProvide demonstrably high-quality specialist Palliative Care services to patients across Southern NSW LHDTo maintain personal professional competence in Palliative CareTo work within healthcare teams and with other senior medical staff in a cooperative and collegiate way, evidencing the Mission, Motivation and Mission-in-Action of HammondCareUndertake teaching of medical students and trainee doctors, and undertake research in Palliative Care as opportunities presentSelection CriteriaMBBS or equivalent, currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia.Fellowship of the Australasian Chapter of Palliative Medicine (FAChPM) of The Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or Fellowship of Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or recognition as a specialist by the Medical Board of AustraliaAppropriate experience to practice as a Senior Medical Practitioner in Palliative Care MedicineDemonstrated ability to provide high-quality compassionate medical care as evidenced by recent practice experience in working congenially and collaboratively as both a leader and member of a multidisciplinary team and as a provider of services that engender high levels of patient satisfaction and experienceDemonstrated ability to work with teams to support and optimize their capacity to deliver servicesDemonstrate a commitment to quality improvement and clinical risk management; actively seek out improvements to service delivery; initiate change and consult those affected by the change; allocate resources and proactively manage potential conflictsDemonstrate participation in ongoing professional development and a commitment to education and researchCurrent Drivers Licence valid within NSWHammondCare is committed to creating an inclusive workplace that promotes and values diversity and inclusion.
