Staff Specialist - Radiation Oncologist (526563) Australia, Tas Oct 15, 2024 Radiation Oncologist – Full-Time Position The Tasmanian Health Service is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Radiation Oncologist to join the Northern Cancer Service team. Based at the North-West Cancer Centre in Burnie, adjacent to the North-West Regional Hospital, this full-time position offers the opportunity to provide specialist oncology care within a multidisciplinary team. As part of a team of five Radiation Oncologists , including two based onsite in Burnie (one existing and this position to be filled), you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality oncology services to the North-West community. About the Northern Cancer Service: The North-West Cancer Centre is an integral part of the Northern Cancer Service , a comprehensive and integrated cancer care provider offering state-of-the-art medical oncology , radiation oncology , and haematology services . Serving a population of approximately 250,000 people across Northern Tasmania, the Northern Cancer Service operates across three sites, with radiation oncology offered at two of these locations. Your Role: As a Radiation Oncologist , your primary responsibility will be to provide exceptional specialist and subspecialty care to oncology patients, ensuring high-quality treatment within the limits of your clinical privileges. You will be responsible for public hospital outpatients, utilizing cutting-edge technologies and techniques, including SBRT (2025), DIBH, IMRT, VMAT, 4 DCT, and 3 D planning. Launceston also provides statewide Brachytherapy services, and you will collaborate with teams across sites to enhance patient care. Details of Appointment: Position: Permanent, full-time, working 76 hours per fortnight, with daytime work only (no on-call duties). Start Date: As soon as possible. *notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant Salary: Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1- Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 3 $210,000 - $301,349 per annum. Please note that access to the Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner salary range $291,472 - $301,349 is subject to the successful applicant satisfying the criteria for Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1, 2 or 3 as outlined in the Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022. Eligibility: Specialist or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia in their radiation oncology speciality. Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable: 1. Fellowship of the Australian Royal Medical College relevant to the applicant's radiation oncology speciality. 2. Current Driver's Licence.
