Provides comprehensive general inpatient and community psychiatric services in Tasmania. Acts as a consultant to mental health professionals regarding the assessment and management of individuals with mental health disorders. Undertakes supervisory responsibilities with Registrars/Career Medical Officers, Resident Medical Officers, and other medical staff as required. Mental Health Services: State-wide Mental Health Services (SMHS) is a leader in the healthcare industry, providing a comprehensive suite of mental health services.
Available roles for Staff Specialist – Psychiatrists in SMHS Adult Mental Health Service South include the provision of services in:
Community-based Mental Health Services. The acute general adult Mental Health Inpatient Unit at the Royal Hobart Hospital. The general adult Consultation-Liaison psychiatric service in the Royal Hobart Hospital. Rehabilitation and extended care facilities. Step-up and step-down facilities in the community. Details of Appointment Permanent full-time, day worker position (with on-call) working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
Salary: $210,000 - $301,349 per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Eligibility: Specialist or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia in a relevant specialty. The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment. The following checks will be conducted:
