An exciting opportunity is currently available for an experienced Senior Staff Specialist or Staff Specialist (Orthopaedics) to join the Department of Orthopaedics Team at the Hervey Bay and Maryborough Hospitals within the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service. The Wide Bay area is arguably one of the most beautiful regions of Queensland. The Health Service stretches from Agnes Water in the North to Maryborough in the South and provides acute care services to a population of over 225,000 residents including several rural communities.
The hospital is a state-of-the-art facility which has recently added a new emergency department and ICU unit, with about 25,000 general admissions per year.
This is a great lifestyle location with very affordable housing and good schools.
The main hospital in central Queensland has a wide array of medical and allied health services, including Coronary Care, Intensive Care, Emergency and outpatient departments as well as renal support services. The hospital currently has 318 busy beds.
The town is located less than 400km north of Brisbane, offering a peaceful culture and environment ideal for a relaxed and stress-free life.
