Staff Specialist - Obstetrics and Gynaecology Medical Specialists (Healthcare & Medical) Government - State (Government & Defence) Full time Add expected salary to your profile for insights  Staff Specialist - Obstetrics & Gynaecology Launceston General Hospital Provide specialist care to public and private patients. Be involved in research and quality improvement activities, undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. Provide specialist advice to inpatient units as required. Women's and children services at the Launceston General Hospital is keen to appoint a Generalist Staff Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology to provide comprehensive clinical services as well as be involved in registrar and medical student training. Our level 5 unit has approximately 1600 births per year. There is a neonatal unit providing care from 32 weeks gestation. The unit enjoys a collaborative relationship between midwifery and obstetric staff with several models of midwifery care being offered as well as care of high risk pregnancies by the obstetric staff. Comprehensive gynaecological services are provided by the unit. Up to level 6 laparoscopy is offered as well as hysteroscopic procedures, urogynecological procedures at a generalist level, and more traditional open and vaginal surgery. The unit has 6 accredited registrars as well as resident medical officers and is also active in teaching medical students. There will be an opportunity to work in a part-time capacity and to be involved in private practice. The unit is keen to foster areas of special interest that are complimentary. Details of Appointment Permanent full time day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight with on call, commencing from 1 July 2024  *notwithstanding hours can be negotiated with the successful applicant Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies. Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1- Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 3 $210,000 - $310,349 per annum, pro rata + 11% superannuation + access to salary packaging Please note that access to the Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner salary range $291,472 -$301,349 is subject to the successful applicant satisfying the criteria for Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1, 2 or 3 as outlined in the Medical Practitioners (Tasmanian State Service) Award Salary range is in accordance with Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022 In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:  Provision of a fully maintained private plated motor vehicle for Full Time Staff Specialist or motor vehicle allowance of $25,758 per annum, pro rata Continuing Professional Development Allowance of $16,000 per annum, pro rata Upon approval access to the Private Patient Plan Relocation and commencement support available  Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria: Specialist or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia in a relevant specialty Current Working with Children Registration The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer.
