Applicants expecting to be elected to Fellowship in the coming months may be considered. Armidale Rural Referral Hospital is a level 4 Maternity service where the woman and her family remain at the centre of the care experience and are actively involved in all decisions about the pregnancy, birth and after the baby is born. All decision-making is based on relationships of mutual respect and trust. Armidale Hospital has 3 birthing suites operating 24 hours, seven days per week. A busy emergency department, a Level 3 Close Observation Unit, mental health unit and renal dialysis unit. The referral community of the area is 55,200. Adult Medical services include respiratory, cardiac, chemotherapy, renal and palliative care. Surgical services include general, orthopaedics, gynaecology, urology and ophthalmology. The hospital is spacious, modern and well-equipped with the most recent development opening in 2019. Tablelands Clinical School is part of the UON and UNE Joint Medical Program.
