#527258 Staff Specialist Geriatric and General Medicine Calvary Mater Newcastle Permanent Part-Time An exciting new position has been created for an experienced Geriatrician with demonstrated practice in General Medicine.
This position will facilitate and provide clinical management of complex elderly patients across General Medicine and Mental Health services.
Hours: Permanent Part-Time 28 hours per week/0.7 FTE Classification: Staff Specialist Level 1 - Level 5 (Level election optional) Remuneration: In accordance with the NSW Health Staff Specialist Private Practice Remuneration.
Level 1 range from $262,376 - $323,777 pa plus superannuation and salary packaging.
About Us: The General Medicine team at Calvary Mater Newcastle, known as "The Mater" are seeking a Geriatrician with experience in General Medicine and the care of complex older people in Mental Health Services.
This role will work closely with our two existing Geriatrics physicians and other General Medicine physicians within the Department.
Our team provide services in General and Acute Care Medicine carried out by experienced General Physicians with specialist training in respiratory, endocrinology, infectious diseases, geriatric medicine, gastroenterology and neurology.
About you: To join our team we are seeking a Physician with: A Primary Medical Degree registrable with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
Specialist training in Geriatric Medicine, including demonstrated experience and/or qualification(s) in General and Acute Care Medicine.
An interest in the care of complex older patients within mental health services is desirable.
Demonstrated capacity for clinical leadership, a commitment to undergraduate and post-graduate teaching in medicine, nursing and allied health and willingness to participate in clinical research.
Understanding of the principles of clinical governance to promote quality and safety in health care with experience in and commitment to evidence based best practice.
