Staff Specialist - General Medicine

The Position:If you enjoy a high level of leadership skills and you thrive in an environment where you are managing complex discharge planning in a challenging environment, we would love to hear from you.
You will provide consultant level management of inpatients admitted under a General Medical Unit.
This will encompass the assessment of acute general medical inpatients, appropriate investigation, and formulation of a management plan.
The Facility:This hospital has a large General Medicine department, servicing approx.
100 inpatients/day, outpatient clinics, and a remote outreach service.
This position will encompass working across all aspects of service delivery to facilitate a varied and balanced workload as negotiated with a successful applicant.
The position is ideal for candidates with fellowship in General and Acute Care Medicine; however, consideration will also be given to applicants with a strong background in General Medicine who hold fellowship in a different specialty.
This outstanding institution stands as a Tertiary and level 3 Teaching Hospital, providing exceptional medical services with close to 400 beds and a dedicated staff of approximately 1,700 professionals.
Catering to a diverse population of 200,000 individuals, its catchment area encompasses urban communities, regional hospitals, and remote Aboriginal communities.
