CLICK HERE TO FIND OUT MORE ABOUT NEWCASTLE, NSW, AUSTRALIA.What you'll be doing The Staff Specialist will provide high quality diagnostic, consultative, procedural and on-call specialty services in Forensic Pathology, and will participate in associated teaching, research, quality improvement and administrative activities commensurate with the Staff Specialists (State) Award, to provide a timely and respectful service for the deceased, families and the wider community Selection Criteria Currently registered or eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and obtained Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia in Forensic Pathology, and/or other specialist recognition as provided under the Staff Specialists (State) Award. Applicants expected to receive Fellowship by February 2025 are encouraged to apply. Demonstrated contemporary clinical knowledge and technical expertise in the specialty of Forensic Pathology. Demonstrated commitment to continuing self-education and development, including evidence of participation in continuing medical education / continuing professional development. Demonstrated participation in teaching and training at undergraduate and/or post graduate level, including supervision of junior medical staff. Ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including excellent communication and organisational skills with capacity to manage competing priorities. Demonstrated commitment to the principles of clinical quality management, continuous improvement and a contemporary knowledge of National Pathology Accreditation Advisory Council (NPAAC) Standards and NATA accreditation processes. Proven ability to work with the deceased in an environment that could be distressing, ensuring to raise any associated concerns and/or need for support, adopting self-care strategies and promoting same for staff.. Demonstrated capacity to adopt and model the NSWHP RITE values of Respect, Integrity, Teamwork and Excellence. All applications must be supported by full responses to the Selection Criteria.
