We are looking for someone to join our close-knit team of FACEMs. The department A 43 bed unit opened in 2012, with an annual attendance of 45,000, a 30% admission rate and approximately 20% paediatric caseload. As the referral hospital for the entire north of Tasmania, we experience high acuity and clinical diversity. The hospital has all major specialties, including a fully supported ICU with ECMO capability and 24-hour cardiac interventional angiography.
As a consultant group, we support ACEM, FACRRM and FRACGP trainees with 24-month ACEM accreditation, including paediatric logbook. As an accredited AMC WBA site, we additionally support multiple international medical graduates at all levels from JMO to Staff Specialist.
Multiple consultants per shift provide direct clinical supervision from 8:00am until midnight, seven days a week with an on-call service outside these hours. We offer approximately 30% CST time with individual portfolios, weekly consultant team meetings, and regular educational events. On-call is approximately 1 in 8 shifts, and weekends 1 in 3.

Details of appointment: Permanent part-time, day worker with on-call, working up to 57 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as possible.
Salary Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1- Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 3 $210,000 - $310,349 per annum, pro rata + 11.5% superannuation + access to salary packaging.
Note: access to the Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner salary range $291,472 - $301,349 is subject to the successful applicant satisfying the criteria for Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1, 2 or 3 as outlined in the Medical Practitioners (Tasmanian State Service) Award.
Salary range is in accordance with Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022. Eligibility: Holds specialist registration. Is a registered Medical Practitioner who is an International Medical Graduate (IMG) on the specialist pathway. Is a registered Medical Practitioner who is an IMG with a recognised overseas specialist qualification and sufficient experience in the speciality. Current Working with Children Registration (where applicable).
