We are seeking motivated and experienced Staff Specialists in Emergency Medicine, who will work as part of the Department of Emergency Medicine across Tasmania's North West Region.
The Staff Specialist provides specialist emergency medical care to patients attending the Department of Emergency Medicine at the North West Regional Hospital (NWRH) and Mersey Community Hospital (MCH).
The NWRH and MCH Emergency Departments have approximately 30,000 presentations annually and treat a broad range of patients.
The NWRH is the regional trauma centre with a 25% admission rate.
The MCH is a sub-acute hospital with limited services and a 15% admission rate.
The MCH is staffed with both FACEM and FACRRM/FRACGP's.
The NWRH ED is accredited by the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine for 12 months advanced training in Emergency Medicine which is increasing to 24 months in 2022.
The Emergency Department at MCH is accredited for emergency medicine certificate and diploma courses.
Fellows of the Australian College for Rural and Remote Medicine and Fellows of the Australian College of General Practitioners with skills and qualifications in Emergency Medicine, ideally the ED Diploma, are encouraged to apply.
There are multiple clinical support portfolios that include quality and safety, education, ultrasound and EMET.
Details of Appointment: Multiple Permanent, full time and part time, shift worker (with on-call) position working up to 76 hours per fortnight.
