Join the consultant team in the adult and paediatric mixed Emergency Department of the Townsville University Hospital. TUH ED is one of the biggest and busiest Emergency Departments in Queensland, providing emergency care to the residents of the greater Townsville area, as well as being the major referral centre for the whole of North Queensland. We manage 100,000 presentations per year, more than 20% were paediatric patients, with an overall admission rate of 30%, with 95% of patients meeting ambulance off-stretcher targets.
As a TUH ED staff specialist, you will have clinical exposure to the adult and paediatric areas of the ED and short stay unit, in addition to aeromedical retrieval clinical coordination for NQ, the Frailty Intervention Team.
What's on offer: Generous remuneration package value up to $536,916 p.a. comprising: Salary range of $8062.00 to $10,221.70 p.f. (L18-L27) 4 weeks annual leave with 17.5% loading 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation Attraction and retention incentive allowance (50% base salary) Motor vehicle allowance between $21,000 and $25,500 p.a. Professional development allowance of $21,500 p.a. + 3.6 weeks p.a. leave Plus, Emergency Department specialist allowance of 25% base salary. Other employment benefits may include: professional development, salary sacrificing options, shift and locality allowances, employee wellness and assistance programs, and access to corporate discounts.
Fellowship of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (FACEM) (or equivalent). Possession of a Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a registered tertiary institution. Current registration (or be eligible for registration) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) to practice emergency medicine. Demonstrated clinical experience in both paediatric and adult Emergency Medicine. Highly desirable qualities are experience and qualifications in adult and paediatric emergency medicine, pre-hospital and aeromedical retrieval. All applicants must be awarded SoCP by the THHS Credentialing and SoCP committee. All appointments are subject to maintenance of SoCP within the CSCF for the facilities in which clinical work is to be undertaken. This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis. Possession of class C drivers' licence. Probation period may apply.
