The Royal Hobart Hospital and Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking interest from suitably qualified applicants for Staff Specialist – Emergency Medicine vacancies. Who are we? Royal Hobart Hospital is Tasmania's largest hospital and major referral centre. As the major clinical teaching and research centre, RHH collaborates with the University of Tasmania and other institutions. All our services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community. The Emergency Department has direct access to all medical and surgical specialities and has approximately 75,000 presentations per year. The Department has more than 250 staff, consisting of medical, nursing, allied health, clerical, aides, and orderlies. The Emergency Department is staffed by specialists, registrars, nurses, and clinical support staff who work together as a dynamic team with strong focus on collegiality. The Role Provide specialist emergency care to public and private patients attending the Emergency Department (ED) at the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH). Be involved in research and quality improvement activities, undergraduate and postgraduate teaching at RHH. Provide specialist advice to inpatient units as required. Essential Requirements Holds specialist registration Is a registered Medical Practitioner who is an International Medical Graduate (IMG) who is on the specialist pathway Is a registered Medical Practitioner who is an International Medical Graduate (IMG) who has a recognised overseas specialist qualification and is assessed as having sufficient experience in the speciality. Details of Appointment Fixed term appointments, both full-time and part-time day work (with on-call) available, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for 2 years.
