The Emergency Department has direct access to all medical and surgical specialities; and has approximately 75,000 presentations per year.
The Department has more than 250 staff, consisting of medical, nursing, allied health, clerical, aides, and orderlies.
The Emergency Department is staffed by specialists, registrars, nurses, and clinical support staff who work together as a dynamic team with strong focus on collegiality.
Provide specialist emergency care to public and private patients attending the Emergency Department (ED) at the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH).Be involved in research and quality improvement activities, undergraduate and postgraduate teaching at RHH.Provide specialist advice to inpatient units as required.Minimum Requirements: Holds specialist registrationIs a registered Medical Practitioner who is an International Medical Graduate (IMG) on the specialist pathwayIs a registered Medical Practitioner who is an IMG with a recognised overseas specialist qualification and assessed as having sufficient experience in the speciality.Details of Appointment: Fixed term appointments, both full-time and part-time day work (with on-call) available, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for 2 years.
