Staff Software Engineer, TruyuIntroducing Truyu
We are a digital protection tool created by x15ventures, CommBank's corporate venture scaler. Our mission is to empower every Australian to be in control of their identity and reduce the financial, emotional and social impacts of fraud. When an identity check occurs in your name, Truyu will alert you a majority of the time. Our current coverage extends to over 60% of all ID checks conducted at merchants across Australia.
In the event of identity misuse, Truyu provides helpful links and remediation prompts to understand how you may re-secure your information as efficiently as possible and avoid additional harm or loss.
We will also alert you if your email addresses have been exposed in a data breach and provide proactive guidance to enhance your online security.

The role
We are seeking an experienced Staff Software Engineer to join Truyu, a newly formed venture within x15ventures. This role will be critical in creating a best-in-class application for our customers as we continue to evolve and scale this product. You will leverage your breadth of experience across the full stack of technologies in building a scalable digital protection product that our customers love.
Your team
The team has been working together since November 2023 and is growing. This role is a key member of our collaborative team, and you will work closely with the product team. We are looking for someone who is not afraid to get their hands dirty, own the experience design stream, and be involved in all areas of the business.
Key responsibilities: Consume a build and deployment pipeline encompassing full-stack application & Azure infrastructure deploymentAssist with providing accurate estimates for the development effort for new featuresBe part of designing and implementing technical solutions for functional and non-functional requirementsAnalyse venture objectives and identify functional and non-functional requirementsProvide technical assistance to other members of the teamContribute to the strategic engineering goals within the ventureEstablish and refine technology policies and procedures to ensure operational safety.Your skills and experience 8+ years of experience in Full Stack software development, ideally in a start-up environmentExperience with front-end technologies such as HTML/CSS, React, JavaScript, Typescript, or APIsExperience with back-end technologies such as Nodejs, PostgreSQL, or GraphQLExperience with cloud technology such as AzureSomeone who knows how to create well-tested and cleanly implemented codeSomeone who thrives on delivering results, not fronting up to an office.You are a team player and enjoy doing pair programmingYou learn through sharing and reading thought leaders in your communityNice to Have Have a product-oriented mindset and be able to work closely with product managers to understand the needs of the end-users.Passionate about fostering effective Engineering practices and processes.DevOps Experience including CICD Pipelines, GitHub, Docker, Jenkins, AnsibleResearch shows that people from underrepresented backgrounds sometimes hesitate to apply for roles if they don't meet every requirement.
