Staff Site Reliability EngineerThis role is permanent, you'll need full working rights. It will initially be remote, but with the idea to move to a hybrid environment and can be in Sydney OR Melbourne.
Are you a Senior SRE working in a Technical Lead capacity without the title? Perhaps you're already a Staff Engineer but working for a business that has miss-sold SRE or who don't give you any autonomy to make decisions? You're looking for a new challenge and have your own ideas about setting up an SRE function.
This role will allow you to take the lead in an SRE practice, working on applications that already have 1 million users and are growing. You'll lay the foundations and build from the ground up, and you'll have a leadership team that will give you the autonomy around the core pillars of SRE. This role will be hands-on, focusing on Engineering and Operations, so you'll need to be a capable coder, but you'll also need to influence and educate engineering teams and stakeholders.
You'll work to define SLO/SLA targets and implement them, build a culture around Post Mortems, Incident response playbooks, and eliminate Toil through automation practices and tooling.
There's already 1 Senior SRE in place, with a Platform team running in parallel, and with headcount increases coming thick and fast.
Minimum Requirements:Technical leadership experienceProven experience of working across the pillars of SRE.Split between Engineering and OperationsTechnology Skillset We're Looking For:Experience in a modern programming language; Typescript, Golang, Rust, Python, etc.Experience with cloud platforms and cloud-native (AWS, GCP, Azure)Experience in containers and container orchestration, ideally a flavor of Kubernetes.Experience with monitoring tools for observability, OTel, and alerting systems.
