The Role GoPro is seeking a top-tier Firmware Engineer to join their innovative engineering team developing tech-enabled motorcycle helmets trackside at Sydney Motorsport Park. On this team, you will be responsible for developing the smart helmets from concept to production. You will work closely with electrical engineering designers to provide the firmware that brings life and function to the boards.
What You Will Do Research and create proof-of-concepts for future product technologies Develop, integrate and test firmware modules for future products Collaborate with hardware engineers and product managers to develop firmware modules that meet product requirements Work closely with hardware teams and chip vendors to bring up and validate hardware Work with local and overseas firmware teams to guide and coordinate the firmware development effort based on defined architecture Skills We're Excited About BA/BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, MA/MS preferred 8+ years of hands-on experience developing embedded software/firmware Strong C programming and embedded firmware development skills for consumer electronic products Proficient in all levels of software, from low-level interrupt handling, device drivers up to high-level media applications Experience in network architecture, internet protocols (TCP, IP, UDP, mDNS), and network application programming Experience with Bluetooth Low Energy and Bluetooth Classic Audio profiles (HFP, HSP, A2DP). Bluetooth host stack integration and debug using HCI and OTA logs. Ability to work independently with little direction, a consummate team player Bonus Points For Good understanding of an embedded system RTOS such as Linux, ThreadX, uItron, etc. Familiarity with WiFi communication Why Work With Us?
