About the Opportunity: We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Staff Development Nurse to join our dynamic team in collaboration with the Clinical Nurse Manager – Community Health. In this role, you will provide clinical support, education, and training for community health nurses, ensuring that they have the tools and skills necessary to deliver exceptional care in designated regional clinical areas. Your responsibilities will include orienting new staff, conducting clinical education sessions, and supporting staff competencies, particularly in relation to the community health information system.
You will work closely with the Community Nurse Managers and the Population Health Management team to identify and address the clinical education needs across key strategy areas: early years, public health, and chronic disease. As a local champion for the new community health information system, you will play a key role in its implementation and ongoing support for both new and existing nursing staff.

Key Responsibilities include: Provide clinical support and deliver education for community health nurses and other staff as needed.Lead orientation, clinical education, and clinical competencies for new and existing nursing staff.Collaborate with the Population Health Management team to implement ongoing education to meet workforce learning needs in early years, public health, and chronic disease areas.Conduct clinical training needs analysis to assess the learning needs of nursing staff.Facilitate orientation programs and provide core clinical skills training to new nursing staff.Perform assessments to ensure staff achieve and maintain competency in clinical skills and mandatory competencies.Champion and provide ongoing support for the implementation and use of the new community health information system.Maintain accurate records of education and training activities and provide reports as required.Support performance development, offering clinical supervision to nurses requiring assistance.Participate in safety and quality improvement initiatives and policy reviews within the practice setting.Represent the team in local and regional meetings, aligning with organizational and service objectives.Adhere to relevant government, WA Health, WACHS, and state policies and procedures.Engage in ongoing professional development and participate in clinical research activities.Join us and be a part of a supportive, collaborative team working towards improved health outcomes for our community.
