The roleAs a Staff Data Engineer at Mutinex, you'll be a key technical leader within our growing data engineering team, spearheading the development and expansion of DataOS, our automated data ingestion platform for Marketing Mix Modelling (MMM).
You'll have the opportunity to own the technical direction of this critical product, driving innovation, ensuring scalability, and maximizing performance.
This role is perfect for a highly skilled engineer who is passionate about applying software engineering rigor to data challenges and is eager to take ownership of a high-impact domain within a fast-growing startup.
Role Responsibilities: DataOS Ownership: Lead the technical design, development, and evolution of DataOS, our petabyte-scale data ingestion platform.
This includes developing and maintaining complex data ingestion pipelines, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability as the platform grows.Scaling the Integration Platform: Expand DataOS's capabilities by designing and implementing integrations with 100's of external APIs (e.g., Google Ads, Facebook Ads, Adobe Analytics) to automate data extraction for MMM.Data Quality Assurance: Develop and implement strategies to ensure the quality and accuracy of ingested data, including data validation, cleansing, and error handling.Performance Optimization: Analyze and optimize DataOS components for performance and efficiency, contributing to low latency and high throughput.Collaboration and Mentorship: Work effectively within a cross-functional team, collaborating with product managers, data scientists, and other engineers to deliver impactful solutions.

What we are looking forSoftware Engineer at Heart, Data Engineer by Trade: You have 5+ years of experience in data engineering, but your foundation is built on a deep understanding of software engineering principles.
You're as comfortable discussing design patterns and SOLID principles as you are with data modeling and ETL processes.
You are proficient in Python and SQL and have a proven track record of designing, building, and maintaining complex, production-grade software systems in a cloud-based environment.Scalability Focus: You have experience designing and building scalable data solutions that can handle increasing volumes of data and user traffic.
You understand the challenges of scaling data pipelines and have a track record of implementing solutions to address these challenges.Modern Tooling: You have hands-on experience with modern data orchestration tools like Dagster, data transformation tools like dbt, and are comfortable with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Pulumi or Terraform).Quality-Driven: You are passionate about building high-quality, maintainable software.
You have experience with testing methodologies (unit testing, integration testing) and champion best practices like code reviews and CI/CD to ensure the reliability and stability of your code.Growth Mindset: You're eager to learn and grow, taking on new challenges and expanding your skillset.
